Overview
Osmo Wood Protector is a clear treatment for interior and exterior wood such as flooring and window frames. It’s highly recommended for woods situated in bathrooms and kitchens where moisture levels are higher due to its highly water-repellent properties. It’s also suitable for children’s play areas and toys as it’s without biocides or preservatives and is formulated with natural oils and waxes. Osmo wood protector is a microporous, breathable primer which does not crack, peel or flake.

Osmo Wood Protector is compatible with all conventional types of glue and putty (except for products containing silicon).

Preparation
Always ensure the area to be treated is clean and free from debris, mould, algae, grease and dust.
- Clean existing microporous stains (wood oils) thoroughly, if necessary sand lightly to remove.
- Old paints and lacquers must be removed, surfaces should be sanded with a 120 grit abrasive and no finer.
- Fill small cracks with or an alternative suitable wood filler.
- For exterior wood it may also be advisable to remove algae, mould and moss with and restore greyed and weathered wood with .
Application
Always test on a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results.
- Stir well before use.
- Apply with a Osmo Flat Brush or other suitable brush.
- Apply generously in the direction of the grain.
- If possible apply on all sides to ensure maximum protection.
- If dipping, dip the item for 2 minutes.
- Allow to dry for 24 hours (36 hours if dipped).
- Apply a top coat within 1 week.

Cleaning
Surfaces can be kept clean with a duster, alternatively using a damp mop and Osmo Wash and Care. For an intensive clean use or .
Maintenance
Simply re-apply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.
